Description

The Rooted Flame draws together many threads of Frater Acher’s earlier work and is his most technically explicit book yet on the practice of goêteia. It carries on the heart-flame first lit in Rosicrucian Magic and Holy Heretics, and follows the path of Holy Daimon out into the open field of the familiar spirits. It is also a direct sequel to Ingenium: where that book prepares the inner self for spirit work, The Rooted Flame starts from the point where those preparations are complete. And it rests on the foundations of his two-volume Collectanea Goêtica.

Acher calls it “not a dark book, but a book for dark times.” It confronts history’s darkest chapters, including the terror of the Holocaust, as well as a world that seems to have come loose from its moorings, and even the parasites that share our own bodies. It does this to equip the reader, not to shock. Acher intends the book as a field guide for times of tyranny: a practical grimoire for resisting without rage and burning without despair, with deep roots, calm hands and an open heart.

It has a foreword by Harper Feist and artwork by José Gabriel Alegría Sabogal.
