Description
A 154-page large-format (A4) hardback documenting the prolific yet secretive Nidrosian Black Metal circle of Trondheim — the once-underground scene whose medieval namesake, Nidaros, was also home to early Norwegian black metal pioneers Thorns and Manes, and to the cathedral that graces the cover of Mayhem’s De Mysteriis Dom. Sathanas.
Compiled by the author of the underground fanzine Ancient Black Art, working directly with participants in the scene and with the family of the late Steingrim Brissach (Celestial Bloodshed) — this book gathers over 200 images, including roughly 100 in colour, alongside artwork, lyrics, flyers and archival documents relating to Mare, Kaosritual, One Tail One Head, Slagmaur, Celestial Bloodshed, Selvhat, Whoredom Rife, Aptorian Demon, and Black Majesty.
A rare, deeply researched visual history of one of extreme metal’s most insular and mythologised regional scenes — essential for collectors of Norwegian black metal history and Cult Never Dies’ acclaimed run of scene-specific photobooks.
