Description
A complete four-colour edition of one of the great Victorian calligraphic grimoires. Originating in a manuscript tradition dating back to 1520, the Clavis was compiled by Dr Ebenezer Sibley in 1789 and expanded over the following century by copyists including Frederick Hockley, becoming one of the most influential magical texts in circulation during the 19th century. This deluxe edition — hand-bound in half black leather over blue leather boards with gilt titling to the spine and Sibley’s armorial crest to the front board — presents the full manuscript in facsimile alongside extensive commentary and transcription by Dr Stephen Skinner and Daniel Clark. Limited to 150 numbered copies and signed by Stephen Skinner on the limitation page
